Newest song.. About Queensdale. And goodness is it long by comparison, but I think on a fair few things worth seeing in the area. 🙂
I Have Traveled Queensdale
Oh I have traveled Queensdale from east to west
I’ve walked the fields of Shaemoor and rid them of their pests!
I’ve taken shade beneath the windmill towering above,
And tasted Eda’s apple pie, a labor of her love!
I’ve heard the bridge below my feet, the echo of my steps
And seen the shadowed life that the vines there reflect
As the sun climbs in the sky above and water runs below
It is the turn of the water wheel which keeps me standing so
So-o-o-o-o
What have you seen in this land of ours?
What have you deemed to put value to?
Let me tell you
Of treasures true
And rarely ever seen
There is a guard in the garrison by the name of Barthol
And this guard of the garrison, he truly gives his all
He’s constantly risking his hide to see
That everything which he can find will be
Put to good use,
Against the abuse
Of the Tamini
Oh-o-o-o-o
I have traveled Queensdale from east to west
Across the waters of Delavan into the Queen’s Forest
There you might meet dear, young Cardy running the lumbermill
Or share a drink with Hunter Block, just please pay Chiffy’s bill
It’s a hop and a skip to Beetletun from the hunting lodge
And while the Tamini reach that far they cannot dislodge
The dreams and the hopes of the farmers who there raise their crop
So stop and speak with Clarence, he’s a tale or two to swap
Oh-o-o-o-o
What have you seen in this land of ours?
What have you deemed to put value to?
Let me tell you
Of treasures true
And rarely ever seen
Did you know in Eldvin Monastery lives one Sister Liz
Who thanks you for your trouble if you sample her newest fizz
So give it a taste and see what you think
Of the newest recipe for their drink
In the monastery halls
Behind their gray, stone walls
Oh-o-o-o-o
Follow the road south to find yourself in the Godslost swamp
Where ghosts are seen walking and skelks are known to romp.
But if you dare to linger there so near the laden boughs
Perhaps you’ll sit a while with Tirzie and inspiration rouse!
Beware the east from Godslost swamp, that’s where the Ettin live
Though they make war against the centaur they still have little give
To humans who are just so different from their very selves
And relish just a bit too strongly what we love so well
So-o-o-o-o
What have you seen in this land of ours?
What have you deemed to put value to?
Let me tell you
Of treasures true
And rarely ever seen
Within the Taminn Foothills there lives mighty Krug
An Ettin with two faces, each an ugly mug
But he’s looking to gain what we now have
Allies with common ground and that
Will stand and fight
With all of their might
Against a common foe
Oh-o-o-o-o
Salma’s Heath – is a prison – for the humans of the land
The Tamini – there they’ve risen – and rule with heavy hand
So I tell you, do not be mistakenly at comfort
For even in safety danger may lurk
But Oh-o-o-o-o
The road that leads to Claypool north of Phinney Ridge
Will not take you past the oakhearts in their glen.
So wander off the road a while, but do so with care
And you may find the treasures of this land so fair.
The Heartwood is growing strong and tall (Oh-o-o-o-o)
While waters flow from the Claypool Falls
Don’t miss the Isle at Altar Brook Vale
But mind the Bandithaunt Caverns just north of there
So-o-o-o-o
What have you seen in this land of ours?
What have you deemed to put value to?
I have told you
Of treasures true
Some rarely ever seen
So take to the lands of Queensdale
To seek out adventures dark or pale
You’ll find what you’re looking for near and far
In open fields or ‘neath the stars
Things you could see
And then could keep
With you for all your life
